ICT and digital technology companies are spread widely across Norfolk & Suffolk. The region has recognised tech clusters, led by the world-leading centre of innovation in communications technology at Adastral Park and Innovation Martlesham near Ipswich.
Norwich also features a growing and nationally significant digital cluster, with specialisms in digital creative, gaming, app development, digital advertising and marketing.
The average digital tech worker in Norfolk and Suffolk is more productive than the regional equivalent – which includes Cambridge.
Sector support
Innovation Martlesham, on Adastral Park, provides a ‘collaborative ecosystem’ for technology companies, with office accommodation, business support, networking opportunities and events, and an ICT Business Incubator and Accelerator.
The Techvelocity initiative in Norwich offers investment, acceleration and mentoring to start-ups and expanding companies.
Tech East, is a not-for-profit membership organisation of technology companies that provides support to existing and start-up companies, and connects members and investors. TechEast has helped map out the region’s innovation assets, strengths and opportunities in a Science and Innovation Audit, and is leading on the continuing expansion of the region’s Digital Tech Skills.
